Hashitomi is a noh play featuring the spirit of a flower and is based on a highly poetic chapter from a masterpiece of classical Japanese literature, the Tale of Genji. Discover Noh in Kyoto will guide you through both the story and its background while deepening your appreciation of noh theatre through explanation of its unique stage presentation and other highlights of the play to look out for, including the long elegant dance.
This event will take place on the occasion of the 21st Udaka Seiran Noh performance event. The performance will include the full noh play of Hashitomi, a dance excerpt of Fujito and a kyogen comedy Neongyoku.
Please separately pay for the tickets for the Seiran Noh Performance. You will be asked to select a ticket type when you fill out the form.
